Basketball fans were so horrified that the referees missed the call against UNC that even Duke fans sympathized with the way UNC was treated.

Baylor almost had a historic comeback UNCAnswer missing 25 points in the last 10 minutes of the rule to take an 80-80 game to overtime.

Part of Baylor’s return has been fueled by the court’s strong full defense of the press, but it’s also been aided by calls — and a lack of calls — that all seem to go against the odds. back to UNC.

UNC-Baylor’s demos were so bad that UNC drew sympathy from Duke, other fans

UNC took the lead 67-42 when UNC star Brady Manek accidentally elbowed Baylor’s Jeremy Sochan. Manek was blatantly fouled 2 and automatically eliminated, which changed the game.

Baylor then ensnared UNC and forced multiple rollbacks, using the same type of aggression that UNC had criticized with the Manek call.

If UNC doesn’t win in extra time, the Baylor win would mark both a historic and controversial moment in NCAA Tournament history. It has not only been associated with the biggest comeback in March Madness history, but has also been criticized more as an example of how referees can unfairly change the outcome of a match.

UNC also drew sympathy from college basketball fans around the country, including Syracuse, Indiana University, and other professional sports journalists and accounts.

UNC fans also expressed outrage, calling not to allow referees to be involved in arbitration again.

What the collective frustration and distrust proves is that this is objectively favorable to Baylor. If even Duke fans can call UNC unfair, the referee calls must really be unfair.
