The Samuel Smith Brewery’s bizarre rules banning children, dogs and phones have left customers outraged

A pub has sparked outrage from its customers after imposing a series of bizarre rules including a ban on mobile phones and swearing.
The Boot and Shoe Old Brewery, owned by Samuel Smith Brewery in Tockwith, UK, has put up signs in the window announcing several new strict rules that have sparked an angry reaction from customers.
“We would like to inform all our customers that we have implemented a zero tolerance policy against swearing in all our pubs,” the signage reads.

“Please respect this policy.”
The pub has also asked customers to remove “dirty boots” and “work shoes” before entering the pub and stipulates that all “transmitting and receiving equipment” must not be used inside the premises, meaning no cell phones allowed are .
“The ban includes receiving or sending texts, taking or viewing photos, sending emails, using games, apps, Google, Facebook, Messenger, etc. etc,” the sign reads.
The pub’s management explained the reason for the technology ban because they wanted the pub to be “a haven for social conversation”.
In addition to these rules, children are not allowed in the pub and must be accompanied by an adult when using the toilet.
Children are allowed to enter the beer garden “for the time being”, but must remain at the table and are not allowed to run around. Children must also leave the site by 8 p.m.
Finally, dogs are now no longer allowed in the pub and may only be on the premises “provided they are supervised and under control at all times”.
“It’s a decision by the brewery to ban them,” a pub spokesman told Britain’s Daily Star.
Many customers took to social media after the rules were posted on Twitter to express their anger at the pub’s recent announcements.
“You’re really trying hard to get yourself out of business, aren’t you? And I like their pubs!” someone tweeted.
“What if you want to order an Uber to get home?” asked another.
‘What can you do in a Smith’s Pub? break wind?” someone joked.
“Seems like they have everything covered there except maybe a no breathing policy. Love Sam Smith beer but don’t understand why they want to treat their customers like elementary school kids?” another tweeted.
“That sounds like a pretty depressing bar… damn it… can you drink alcohol in there,” someone said.
