The Red Bull Foam Wreckers series returns in 2022

The Red Bull and Catch Surf foamboard competition series return for the 2022 season after a successful 2021.

Last year a fun surfing competition was introduced to the world. The Red Bull Foam Wreckers competition made ordinary people compete like the pros. The idea is to bring together surfers of all skill levels for a fun competition with minimum rules and maximum style. The competitor will only use foam (soft-top) surfboards, unusual the type of boards used by beginners.

Participants can surf alongside soft top surfers like Jamie O’Brien, Ben Gravy, Kalani Robb, Blair Conklin and the entire Catch Surf team. O’Brien has made a name for himself as one of the finest water sports enthusiasts. He’s one of the best surfers to ever ride the Hawaii Pipeline. Last year he traveled across the country to showcase his soft top riding to the local surfing communities.

“The whole softboarding movement is so fun and the accessibility of people surfing carefree is so appealing, Red Bull Foam Wreckers channels that energy,” O’Brien said in a press release. “Whether you want to compete in your first surfing contest, take your creativity to the next level on a Foamie, or just watch the fun unfold in the sand, Red Bull Foam Wreckers is an event not to be missed should .”
