‘The Real Housewives of Dubai’ star Chanel Ayan dismisses the idea of Phaedra Parks appearing in the new season
Former The Real Housewives of Atlanta reality star and attorney Phaedra Parks appeared on the July 6 episode of The Real Housewives of Dubai. At lunch with the cast Caroline Brooks and friend, shawn, Parks stated that she is in the process of buying a house in the United Arab Emirates. Two weeks after the episode aired, Parks admitted in an Entertainment Tonight interview that she was ready to join the Dubai cast.
But stars Chanel Ajan and Lesa Milan don’t seem to want housewives in Dubai anymore. “I think she needs to find her own show,” Ayan told the outlet last week about Parks. “We are good where we are.”
Milan agreed with Ayan, hinting that the 51-year-old mother of two should join spin-off The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Clubs. The reality star previously starred in season two, which is currently streaming on Peacock.
“We love Phaedra. She’s nice and all, but I think she’s more like ‘Ultimate Girls Trip’ and the shows that she does,” Milan said.
“Yeah, not ours,” Ayan added. “All you can do is show up and say ‘Hello.’ That’s more than enough.”
Ayan decided to provide another jab in a since-deleted tweet, in which she mentioned why Parks was fired from “RHOA” in 2017. The tweet appeared to be in response to Parks’ appearance on Dish Nation in June, where she apparently alluded to the model not being smart.
She tweeted: “To the thirsty ex-housewife – shut up. You only met me once for 5 min. Let’s not make it a @Kandi situation with lies. #stop lying like you know me. #learnyourlesson #RHODubai.”
It’s unclear when Ayan’s tweet was originally posted and deleted as the date was truncated. But apparently it was triggered by the idea of Parks joining RHODubai. Since her appearance, fans have expressed interest and concern that Parks may return to a Housewives franchise.
Parks was a regular cast member on “RHOA” after joining season three in 2010, a year after Kandi Burruss was selected for season two. The pair became close over the years until Parks felt Burruss dumped her over marital issues with her ex-husband. Apollo Nida.
On the season 9 reunion special, the self-proclaimed Southern Belle admitted to spreading false lies about her co-star and boyfriend. As previously reported, Parks told Porsha Williams that Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, planned to drug and sexually assault her.
The serious allegations created a web of controversy and severed Williams’ relationship with both women. Fans have criticized Park’s decision to lie, and others who believed her story poked fun at Burruss, with online trolls calling her a “rapist,” among other things. Parks was eventually fired from RHOA and remains warmly attached to Williams to this day. However, it is highly unlikely that she will mend her friendship with Burruss.
After that, Parks stepped out of the spotlight for a while but returned for various interviews and television appearances. Meanwhile, Burruss is staying with “RHOA” and cashing in on the rumors that nearly destroyed her reputation by creating a sell-out sex show that hit major cities across the country.
