He may not have been on the Apex Legends starting roster, but Octane has received countless amounts of legendary and unique cosmetics since his arrival. This is especially true of his skins, as they’ve transformed the legend into everything from a court jester to a spotted leopard. Unfortunately, these types of well-made ones are also some of the hardest to get. Here are the rarest Octane skins that have come to the battle royale.
Like most Legends, Octane has received an exclusive skin through Amazon’s Prime Gaming service. Adrenaline Affliction dressed the character in an all-purple outfit with battery packs on the waist and back. The cosmetic was only available to Prime Gaming members in March 2021 and is unlikely to return any time soon.
The Steampunk-inspired Clocktane was a skin that first debuted as part of the 2020 Season 3 Grand Soiree Arcade event. As memorable as his bronze armor and teal watches are, he has only appeared twice in bundles on the in-game store for more than 6,000 Apex Coins.
Holiday Outfits make for some of the best skins in Apex, and Octane’s Dasher is no exception. It gave the legend a torso reindeer costume as well as some golden hooves for added style. Dasher is themed for Christmas and will appear in the shop every December during the Holo Day Bash events.
An offshoot of Octane’s beloved Jade Tiger skin, El Tigre provides the character with red and black armor and a matching tiger mask. After arriving with the Season 8 Anniversary Collection Event, the legendary cosmetic was only available one more time in early 2022 for 1,800 Apex Coins.
Die-hard Apex players know that most craftable skins appear a few times each year, although the Extreme Measures outfit is one of the few that tends to last much longer. This repaint of the Victory Lap skin has graced the shop with its presence just three times since its debut in 2019 and is yet to return in 2022.

Players who have spent Apex coins on Gold Rush in hopes of eventually getting a transcendent recolor may be out of luck for now. His craftable Holeshot Hotshot skin may feature fancy black and yellow motocross gear, but he’s only been accessible once since April 2020.
All of the Battle Pass cosmetics are rare on their own, but a skin as well-made as Jade Tiger deserves credit. The green and black armor for Octane was exclusive to the Season 2 Battle Pass and required players to reach level 75 to earn it.
Since it’s only available during the week of every Black Friday, the Laughing Fool is one of the rarest skins you can find in the shop. However, his uniqueness certainly gives him the right to do so, as the legendary skin transforms the fearsome legend into a full-blown court jester.
Since Octane has the agility of a jungle cat, there’s no better skin to represent his abilities than Wild Speed. The black and yellow spotted outfit transforms the Legend into a leopard, but not too many players get to witness this for themselves. Introduced in May 2021 as part of an ALGS Store Sale bundle, Wild Speed was sold separately for a limited time in early 2022.
It might not be the rarest skin on this list, but players are unlikely to ever encounter an Octane that comes with the XL-R8 outfit on the battlefield. This neon droid is popular for disappearing for entire seasons, lasting up to five seasons without being in the store. Since XL-R8 was surprisingly featured in Season 12’s Unshackled event, we expect it to be on another long hiatus.
