Queen Elizabeth II is buried in King George VI’s memorial chapel at Windsor Castle, close to her husband, Prince Philip.

As the world mourns the death of the Queen, preparations are made for her funeral, which has been planned for several years.

She will be buried after a state funeral in the special chapel at her beloved Windsor Castle.

Named after the Queen’s father, the chapel was built in 1969 in the main chapel of St George’s.

She is buried next to her parents, who are also buried in the smaller chapel.

The Queen’s younger sister, Princess Margaret, was cremated and her ashes were also placed in the grave after her death in February 2002.

The Queen’s death was previously announced in an official statement from Buckingham Palace.
