A light aircraft has made an emergency landing in south-west Sydney, losing part of a wing after colliding with a car.

The plane ran into trouble when it lost power mid-flight on Saturday.

It had to make an emergency landing at Bankstown Trotting Recreational Club.

The plane crashed into a parked car and damaged the harness racing club’s fence.

At the time of the crash, only the pilot was on board, who managed to get out of the wrecked aircraft unharmed.

There was no one in the parked car at the time.

Surveillance cameras captured the moment the plane crashed, showing it skidding across the track and coming to rest on top of the car.
