The Other World is a multiplayer action-survival RPG that promises an evolving land of lore rather than history

It’s time to dive once again into the imaginative, big, promising world of crowdfunded multiplayer and MMO games. Today we have been judged the other worlda multiplayer open world action RPG in development led by survival RPG twitch streamer Demone Kim.

the other world has enormous ambitions, including a world that changes depending on the season and the impact players leave on its physical, political, and lore landscape. As for the story, there don’t seem to be any plans for an overarching narrative, as the game encourages players to “actively seek out and educate themselves on the issues that are important to them.” [them] instead of being forced to follow the same path as everyone else.” Interactions with the game world and NPC groups should also have consequences; If an orc village is left alone, it could be upgraded to a fortress.

As for the survival component of the other world, which includes familiar insignia such as dealing with health, stamina, food and water, and dealing with diseases such as poison and environmental influences. Finally, there are plans for a building system that uses modular blueprints and community efforts with NPC companions and other players.

the other world has launched a GoFundMe campaign targeting $500,000 to make the game as advertised, which has no end date for crowdfunding but promises full refunds will be given if something catastrophic happens, like “a meteor hits the earth and [stop the team’s] Progress.” The crowdfunding site also promises that funds will flow immediately into the development of the title (which questions how the team intends to issue refunds) and that progress will be regularly updated.

Up to this point, Kim’s first announcement video appears to be a real conversation with fans about his ideas about why he’s making the game he is and what players can expect. Kim’s YouTube channel is otherwise full of more detailed videos moving through each section of the project’s feature set, as well as the first episode of a developer Q&A session.
