The next World of Warcraft expansion Dragonflight has leaked on the Blizzard website

Back in the day, World of Warcraft was the only name to remember when it came to MMOs. Though it doesn’t dominate the industry as much as it once did, Blizzard’s flagship MMO remains popular enough to warrant continued support from the developer, thanks to several competitors rising up to give players a break from fighting across Azeroth to justify.

The next phase of this support could be announced in the next few weeks if a leak from WoW Head, the popular World of Warcraft fansite, is correct. According to information in the World of Warcraft website’s source code, Blizzard itself may have inadvertently revealed the name of the upcoming expansion for the game.

The name “Dragonflight” is listed multiple times in the site’s source code after a recent update, including base, heroic, and epic pre-purchase bonuses. The code also points to a new URL, dragonflight.blizzard.com, which currently results in a timeout error. All of this is proof that the new expansion’s name was leaked early on by the company itself.

Of course, even though we already know its name, there are still many details we don’t know about the new expansion. All of this could easily be a ploy by Blizzard to distract from the actual nature of World of Warcraft’s next expansion. The official announcement is expected on April 19th, so fans won’t have to wait long to get their questions answered.
