The next season of Pokémon Go is Season of Light, and it portends the arrival of Solgaleo, Lunala, and Cosmog

Following the conclusion of the Pokémon Go global Go Fest: Finale event, the team at Niantic has announced the next season, the Season of Light. This season lasts from September to November. There are also a handful of clues as to the next Legendary Pokemon to come into play, Solgaleo, Lunala, and Cosmog.

The Pokémon Go Fest: Finale was the last big event of the last in-game season, the Season of Go. Over the past few weeks, several Go Fests have introduced new Ultra Beasts for players to capture. All four performed simultaneously at the Go Fest: Finale event, giving ticket holders the chance to add these elusive Pokémon to their collections. This was also the season Professor Willow disappeared, only to reappear with a new look.

When Professor Willow returns in the Go Fest: Finale quests, he shares that while he was away, he felt a “protective presence – warm as the sun and calm as the moon,” likely indicative of the arrival of Solgaleo and Lunala, of Legendary, indicates Pokémon of the Sun and Moon. Those two would make sense along with the trailer video revealed on the official Pokémon Go Twitter page. Along with these massive hints, after the Pokémon Go Fest: Finale event, multiplayer Lunatone and Solrock began spawning in abundance in every region.

Since we also have an entire galaxy in the teaser, we’re speculating that Cosmog could be featured alongside these two legends.

The Season of Light begins September 1st for all Pokémon Go players. We should know about the upcoming events in the next few days, but for now we can only look forward to the upcoming journey to Pokémon Go.
