The next Battlefield 2042 update will give everyone beards

besieged multiplayer shooter Battlefield 2042which wasn’t exactly the success EA was hoping for, will take another step towards a true video game this week with the release of the next update.

While the game was rightly reviled by fans (and non-fans) alike, I’ve always had a weakness for it, also because I like the things in one battlefield The game has been there since launchbut also because this game – partly developed in the worst months of the pandemic –was clearly nowhere vicinity done when publishers EA tumbled it out the door.

So developers DICE have Basically, I’ve had to spend the months since launch…finishing the game, adding things like scoreboards and additional UIs that under less hellish circumstances would have just been part of the regular development process and gone along with it Battlefield 2042 at the start.

The update of the first season of the game has made many players happy because it just brought the game so much closer to what they would have expected in October 2021and the 1.2 update – tomorrow, August 2nd – is even closer.

It introduces some fixes for the weakest card in the game (Kaleidoscope), finally giving players a lifetime stats page (where you can track things like your K:D ratio, games played, etc.Style and Tone changes for the game’s specialists.

Battlefield 2042 Specialists, characters similar to those you would choose in other shooters, such as Apex Legendsare a first for the series and were received quite poorly, not only because of the changes they made to the game structure (replacing Traditional classes like Medic), but for the way their cocky swagger and cheesy one-liners were at odds with the game’s grim climate apocalypse setting.

Dice’s first step to fixing this was simple keep them still so the characters stop screaming Keywords during end-game summaries, but the next step here will be to make them all look a bit more appropriate for the setting. This means that they all generally look more tired, dirtier and haggard, and in the case of the male specialists, give them beards. And if they already had a beard, give it to them more Beard and a few extra wrinkles to boot. Here’s a look at the changes:

I like it, each one actually looks a bit more appropriate for the environment.
