The new Legends of Runeterra expansion introduces three new champions

Legends of Runeterra rounds out the world around it League of Legends and its champions, who tell stories through their cards that cannot happen in MOBA. It’s not entirely clear what is canon, and some of it has leaked extensively to the Universe website or other Riot media, but the cards often tell little stories through their characters and descriptions.

For example, the next expansion, Forces from Beyond, seems to tell a story where Kai’Sa witnesses a Void battle in Shurima in the doomed city of Belveth, Gwen finds a new court full of masked participants, and the demon Evelynn finds herself fed in Runeterra.

Forces From Beyond also includes other new cards, as well as new keywords that can be used to create new decks. The Star Guardian event will also appear in Forces from Beyond, as Star Guardian Kai’Sa will be the first legendary skin in it Legends of Runeterra, along with new voiceovers and animations for their champion cards. She is accompanied by a variety of other Star Guardian champion skins, including Gwen, Jinx, Senna, and Soraka.

The new expansion will be released on July 20th. Last month, Riot announced it was “refocusing.” Legends of Runeterra to PvP, and the new PvE Path of Champions mode would receive “fewer updates”.
