The 2022 NFL season is upon us, and here we look at the most overrated player for each of the 32 teams as training camp begins.
With training camps beginning across the NFL, we’re beginning to take an in-depth look at each team’s roster for the 2022 season. While all teams start with the same record, not all teams are created equal, and there will be haves and have-nots again this year.
Here we look at one player in each roster who will be most overrated heading into 2022.
2022 NFL Season: Most Overrated Player of All 32 NFL Teams
Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray, QB
Undeniably a talented quarterback, Kyler Murray is one of the young, dynamic stars of today’s NFL. That’s not the question. The only question is whether he was worth the amount of money the Arizona Cardinals paid him to their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future.
Murray has never led his team to a ten-win season, and even last year when they made the playoffs he looked terrible on his debut. He’ll win a lot of games for the Cardinals and likely win a lot of Pro Bowls, but making him the second-highest-paid player in the NFL is a stretch.
Atlanta Falcons, Lorenzo Carter, LB
After starting his career with the New York Giants, Lorenzo Carter is returning home as he has signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons. Carter, a star at the University of Georgia, is expected to help rebuild Atlanta, a team that has struggled since reaching the Super Bowl a few years ago.
While Carter has always had the physical gifts to get the job done, he wasn’t quite the player the Giants expected when he left college. That could change with a big season at Atlanta, but due to the early return, the team could be asking too much of him.
