The MLB exec predicts where Shohei Ohtani will end up in the free hand

Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani is hitting free in just a few short years, and pundits are already predicting where he could be headed.

Angels from Los Angeles Star Shohei Ohtani will be eligible for free agency in 2024, and multiple pundits and executives are already predicting where he could end up. An MLB executive who spoke to the athlete predicted Ohtani could go to the Dodgers, Giants or Mariners.

“I don’t think he’s an East Coast guy. My first instinct is to say Dodgers or Giants. But I don’t actually think he would go to the Dodgers just because it looked like he was going to pin it on the Angels. I could imagine him going to Seattle. But west coast. That’s my guess.” -MLB manager, via The Athletic

The Angels star is unlikely to have any problems with his free hand. He was reportedly interested by a few teams for this year’s close, but he’s so talented that the front office wasn’t ready to part with him just yet.

Shohei’s talent is truly unique in the league and hard to replace.

Ohtani is an incredible pitcher and unique in that he’s also often used as a multi-faceted force.

The 28-year-old is currently enjoying his best season on the hill. He has a 2.83 ERA, a .215 batting average and a 1.04 WHIP.

In 380 at-bats, he hit .258/.352/.508 for an OPS of .860. Ohtani remains a legitimate threat to power and could even end up back at the top of the AL MVP pick in 2022, despite his team’s spot in the standings. The MLB exec predicts where Shohei Ohtani will end up in the free hand
