The Chicago White Sox is said to be able to prevent Kris Bryant from re-signing with rival Cubs.
The Chicago Cubs Things blew up on the trading deadline last season when it came to the trading of bigger-name players, with Kris Bryant being one of them. After playing multiple positions, the team gave him to the San Francisco Giants. This season, Cubs fans are certainly hoping to bring in some of those players, including Bryant. But they should keep an eye on their rivals in the White Sox.
Former MLB general manager Jim Bowden tweeted to see if the White Sox, Seattle Mariners and Colorado Rockies are in the market for a quarterback, with Bryant listed as an option, when the lockout ends.
Could the White Sox be marketed to Kris Bryant?
Allegedly, Bowden listed three other off-court picks between the three teams as Nick Castellanos, Michael Conforto and Seiya Suzuki. But with Bryant listed, the link will be there whenever the account lockout comes to an end, and White Sox fans are sure to love seeing Bryant join their team ahead of the Cubs.
As mentioned earlier, Bryant actually increased his commercial value to many of the positions he played in the first half of the season for Chicago. He played all three positions off the field, third base, first base and stopover. Bryant was then traded to the Giants in exchange for potential clients Alexander Canario and Caleb Kilian.
In 144 games between the Cubs and Giants, Bryant won .265 / .353/.481 while scoring 25 home runs, 73 RBIs and 136 hits.
Project Spotrac Bryant’s market value stands at $23.5 million per year.
Whenever the course is over, Bryant can go back to Chicago, but in a White Sox uniform? Well, we won’t know until Bryant agrees to a team before the 2022 season.
