The Josh Hader deal kills the Milwaukee Brewers instantly

The Brewers recently brought Josh Hader closer, and it’s coming back to haunt them.
Milwaukee recently traded Hader to the San Diego Padres and they’ve been struggling ever since. The Brewers were sent off twice in three games against the Pittsburgh Pirates and managed to botch a save in Thursday night’s finals.
They were swept into the series largely due to their bullpen.
Hader has been one of Milwaukee’s most reliable backup pitchers, and it will take a while for him to adjust to life without him.

This season, the 28-year-old pitcher has a 4.11 ERA, a .198 batting average and a 1.09 WHIP over 35 innings. His replacement was to be Devin Williams, who was another stalwart back-up for the Brewers. Williams has a 1.77 ERA, a .162 BAA and a 1.03 WHIP over 40.2 innings.
Milwaukee might have that Hads got rid of at the wrong time. she won Taylor Rogers in trade. Although Rogers would be a reliable replacement for most teams, Williams has the greatest potential of any player in the Brewers bullpen.
While there was arguably no right time to trade Hader – one of the best closers in the sport – doing so in the middle of a Division chase is bizarre to say the least. The return of San Diego, which some experts say was missing, makes Milwaukee’s decision-making all the more confusing.
The Brewers are on the verge of losing their first-place finish at NL Central and they made a risky decision by trading Hader.
