The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been a huge success for Illumination, Nintendo and Universal Pictures since its theatrical release on April 5th. In the time since it came out The film has already grossed $1 billion worldwidemaking it one of the highest-grossing films of all time on the domestic sales charts, according to Box office mojo. While you might get mixed answers on whether it’s fun or not lookSales suggest so The Super Mario Bros. Movie is at least one of the most watched films to come out in recent memory. That’s great news, though Chris Pratt delivered an average vocal performance.
However, what’s not good news, especially for Nintendo, is how many times the entire film has now been tweeted in parts Twitter no longer has a trust and security compliance team.
Nintendo claps The Super Mario Bros. Movie away from twitter
As The edge reportedsome verified twitter accounts all posted Super Mario Bros. Movie on April 28, with these tweets remaining available until at least April 30. That’s two whole days of free viewing, even if you’re forced to watch it in segments on a tiny phone screen, a far cry from the theatrical experience. With Twitter Blue subscribers being able to post longer videos than us non-paying plebs in the burning Bird app, folks with the Blue Check just tweet the whole thing out into a few long clips with no regrets.
Two accounts responsible for this were reportedly banned for violating the Twitter Rules. Even though the full movie tweets keep going offline and you can no longer watch them, people are still finding the original tweets and retweeting them while new accounts seem determined to keep posting the movie.
This isn’t the only movie that’s been tweeted in full recently. The edge noticed that Avatar: The Way of Water has also appeared online. In the meantime I could find something a one minute video that races through the whole of 2008 iron man, which is still on the website at the time of publication. kotaku has reached out to Twitter for comment, but as usual since CEO Elon Musk tweeted on March 23, just got a poop emoji as an auto reply. Nintendo did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Aside from issuing DMCA takedowns to remove the film from Twitter, it’s unclear exactly what Nintendo intends to do to prevent this The Super Mario Bros. Movie do not appear fully online. And it’s unclear how many other films have been disclosed in a similar manner, especially since Twitter appears to have no content moderation teams whatsoever to review the site’s security.
