Authorities in Chatham County, Georgia have completed a fourth day of unsuccessful searches for missing 20-month-old Quinton Simon, but authorities still hope he will be found alive.
The toddler was reported missing from his home in an unincorporated part of the county near Savannah on Wednesday morning, and county police said no foul play was suspected.
“We will hope that he is still alive and that we can find him and bring him home safely to his parents,” Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley said at a news conference Thursday.

The case has attracted widespread attention and a large response from law enforcement.
“We appreciate everyone’s offers of help, but we don’t need volunteers,” the police department said in a statement.
The search for the child has involved an army of law enforcement and accompanying tools, including drones, helicopters, horses and sniffer dogs, police said. Detectives worked 20-hour days, Hadley said.
They have so far searched his house, a pond, drainpipes, dumpsters, nearby woods and other unknown locations.
Officers interviewed family members and people close to Quinton and electronically searched the phones of people close to him, Hadley said.
Since a kidnapping could not be ruled out, the FBI joined the on-site effort, he said.
On Wednesday, Hadley said Quinton’s mother’s boyfriend woke up at 6 a.m. and reported seeing him around that time.
“Mother woke up sometime later and reported the child missing at 9:39 a.m.,” the boss said.
The boy’s biological father, who was not named, “was not around during his disappearance,” Hadley said.
The child’s mother and her boyfriend have been working with detectives, Hadley said.
“At this point, they are victims,” he said. “You are struggling with the loss of a child.”
No suspects or persons of interest have been named and there is no evidence Quinton did not walk away, although exhaustive searches of a geographic area in close proximity have turned up nothing, police said.
