The Lands Between rings its call bell again. fans are waiting elden ringPvP-focused update 1.08 of can now jump in to challenge each other in epic showdowns that sure have a lot to offerDismantle some of the most impressive structures in existence. The update comes with some expected opportunities for head-to-head 1v1 challenges, as well as some other chaotic twists.

Today’s update too elden ring It’s more of a DLC than a patch. The almost 2 GB update opens coliseums in Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid. Players can fight each other in a variety of game modes and rules, all focused on PvP. Battle against other players is a time-honored tradition in the world of Soulslikes, particularly in FromSoftware’s games. After all, a core feature of elden ring and the previous one from FromSoft souls Games, the ability to ambush other players (and be ambushed yourself) is one of the best ways to show off the intricacies and power of your build.

Those looking for intense yet respectful (I’m sure) 1v1 showdowns will be pleased to find the “Duel” mode in the Leyndell coliseum. With zero respawns, you and your build face off against a tainted one. But if you’re into something a little more frantic, the Limgrave coliseum features Combat Ordeal, a straight-forward fight that sees each one attacked for themselves. The person with the most points for kills can claim victory.

That’s not all the Limgrave Coliseum has to offer. In “United Combat” two teams of two compete against each other. Respawn is active here, but whoever gets the most kills wins. In general, 2v2 game modes are really interesting demonstrations of cooperation and tactics, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out elden ring.

And if you want to summon spirits to fight alongside you, the Caelid Coliseum allows Spirit Ashes to be used to cause all the trouble for your fighters in the various PvP modes listed above.

The update also brings some adjustments to PvP across the board. These include:

  • Thrust weapon counterattack damage has been reduced.
  • Reduced parry efficiency when attacking while shield up for some weapon types.
  • The following weapons’ posture damage has been reduced (weapon arts’ posture damage remains unchanged): Straight Swords / Thrusting Swords / Heavy Thrusting Swords / Curved Swords / Axes / Spears / Double-Bladed Swords / Katanas
  • Summoning Beast Slingshot stance damage has been reduced.
  • The power of the Carian Slicer spell has been reduced.

More adjustments to game mechanics, attack speed, recovery time, stagger damage, and more are coming with the update. For the curious are the full details listed in the official patch notes here.

As a gamer who (and that’s a technical term) sucks elden ring, I’m actually quite curious about jumping into those coliseums – where I’ll be obsessed, I’m sure. But sparring with others is often one of the best ways to get better at a game, and dealing with the weird freaks and monsters that roam the map sure is better.
