The revamped police force in Cyberpunk 2077 has been rebuilt from what was originally introduced with the title in 2020. She no longer immediately teleports near your location, but instead comes and chases you in police cars to try to reach your destination. Day less fun for the trouble you caused. However, there are a few things you can do to defeat the Night City Police Department (NCPD) if you don’t want to start any more fights.

Leave the scene

Do not stay in the area where you committed the crime, but leave immediately. This is the biggest mistake you can make when you have just reached your desired level. Either run on foot or jump into one of your vehicles and clear the area before the police arrive with their cars. If they see you here, you will most likely end up in a shootout.

Avoid police presence

When a police chase begins, law enforcement agencies will appear on the minimap. When searching for you, a blue radius appears around each unit. If you want to avoid the police, you should avoid this circle as much as possible and stay out of its reach. If police find you in this area, the pursuit will resume and you will be back on the scene with additional support.

Hide indoors or search for company

While there are many places in the world to hide while driving around, there is also the possibility of losing them in buildings. Night City is full of businesses and indoor venues. You can try to use these buildings to your advantage by weaving in and out of them to hide inside and out of sight of the police. This can sometimes remove your desired level if you have moved to a safe location.

Take the elevator

Since Night City isn’t a flat environment to walk around in, that means there are elevators that can take you to different locations that are either higher or lower than where you are. Elevators are a great way to get rid of the NCPD as they quickly leave the area and find themselves at a new height that they need to get to.

How to reach desired levels in Cyberpunk 2077

The system you are looking for in Cyberpunk 2077 will appear in the top corner of your screen next to the minimap. These are represented by blue stars, with five indicating the maximum amount of heat you can achieve. At this level, the NCPD sends Max Tac mini-bosses at you, and each can have different archetypes assigned to them.

If you want to turn up the heat and try your luck against these tougher enemies, you can increase the wanted level by causing more chaos in the world. You can start a wanted level in Cyberpunk 2077 by either shooting civilians or police officers, stealing vehicles in front of a police officer, or crashing your car into an NCPD vehicle. As you continue to resist the police presence, your wanted level will increase, and once you reach level five, you will reach the maximum heat level in the game.
