The drone captures the moment a South Australian tradie rescues a dog from a cliff

The couple posted an appeal online when Macey initially went missing.

A community worker then told them he heard barking coming from a volcanic crater wall.

“My dad has the drone … I just said, ‘Dad, get your drone, it’s going to help us a lot,'” Pfitzner’s partner Kelsea Fox told Sunrise.

When Pfitzner discovered the missing dog, he jumped into action.

“As soon as she looked at me, I thought, if I take off, maybe she’ll try to climb down,” Pfitzner said.

“I just thought fuck it while I’m here… I might as well try and nab them.”

Pfitzner gave Macey a big hug when he finally reached her, before a pal helped lower the couple to the floor.

“If I saw him go up there, I probably would have freaked out,” Fox said.

“But when I went down, I saw everything and it was very scary.”

The couple believe Macey was stolen and later thrown onto the cliff as they checked the area the day before and didn’t see her.

The pet received a clean bill of health from the vet and now has a GPS tracker on its collar.
