Diablo Immortal may not have gotten off to the best start with fans of the franchise, but it seems Blizzard is trying to allay player fears by showing off some of the mobile title’s key features. In a recent blog post, the developers highlighted two key ways to shape a character in-game – cosmetics and the class change feature.

Cosmetics in Diablo Immortal appear to work similarly to other games. They change your character’s appearance without affecting gear or stats. Players can get cosmetics per class, but each set will also be available for each class in the game. Each reward changes the character’s armor and weapons, and some even change animations. The blog even explained that each legendary item in the game will have its own unique visual progression as your character’s gems gain power.

Blizzard plans to release a new cosmetic set for all classes each month and themed around that month’s current Battle Pass. Purchasing the month’s Battle Pass allows a player to unlock a cosmetic outfit for any class, and a premium option also comes with custom portal skins and portrait frames. There will also be free cosmetics that can be unlocked through gameplay.

Diablo Immortal will address players’ fears of trying every class without creating a ton of alternates. In Westmark, players can change their existing character class. The character keeps all the progress made on Paragon levels and gets a new set of items suitable for the new class. All item progression and gems can also be carried over to the new class. The items and stash from the old class will not be lost, and progress on Horadric Vessels and Helliquary will also be preserved.

The only downside to changing classes is having to collect legendary items specific to the new class, but that’s the main purpose of the game anyway. Players who are not happy with their new class can use the feature again to go back to their previous class or try a new one.
