The Daily Grind: What terrifying MMO story moment will you never get out of your head?

I know I can almost always make Bree giggle by talking about how my father plays with doors. It is a Guild Wars Thing. And yes, that line was kind of awful, a lot of the original story in the game wasn’t great, but I still was Love it and will never forget it. But part of this job means I’ll never forget the showdown in astellia this was supposed to look cool and actually looked like two models in lingerie waving their hands on a green screen set, or just the absolute morass the strange line delivery at the beginning of sword and soul.

There are thousands of stories that aren’t great but not bad enough to be memorable, often from MMOs that fall right in that mid-range (hi, Elyon, but also bye). What I’m wondering about here is the absolutely awful story beats, possibly even in games with overall good stories, that are so memorable precisely because they’re bizarre, bad, and just plain shaky. So what terrifying MMO story moment will you never get out of your head?
