The Cycle: Frontier increases movement speed and stamina, and makes early missions easier

The upcoming 2.1 patch is good news for the many The Cycle: Frontier players who feel the game’s movement is a bit too slow and restrictive. Developer Yager agrees, at least in part, and will speed things up with changes to walk speed and stamina regeneration. Early missions will also be optimized to speed up the process of leveling up faction shops.

Movement in The Cycle: Frontier is intentionally slow due to the game’s caution in both looting and fighting. In order not to detract from this design too much, Yager employs movement modifications that continue to encourage players to consciously move rather than running and sliding all over the place. Walking speed is slightly increased and Stamina is regenerated slightly faster when standing still. Running and target walking speeds are not changed.

The mission changes are equally subtle, although they will certainly add a little airiness to the new player experience in The Cycle: Frontier. The requirements for completing multiple campaign contracts are lowered: this means fewer data drives to deliver to ICA, fewer Veltecites to mine for Korolev, and fewer creatures to hunt for Osiris.

Patch 2.1 will be deployed to The Cycle: Frontier on March 23rd. Alongside the changes to stamina, movement speed, and missions, there will be much-needed adjustments to shots and steps, both of which have been very inconsistent in the past.
