“The Celtics are not overwhelmed by Steph Curry’s showboating and leadership” Skip Bayless applauds the Celtics who pressured Warriors in the fourth quarter
The Boston Celtics maintained their away run and Skip Bayless was very impressed with their persistent attempts, which eventually paid off for the visiting team
The 2022 NBA Finals had all the ingredients for a good basketball game. Elite in shooting and defence, both teams played to their strengths but also tried to reveal the opponent’s weaknesses. As the stars of both sides do their best to win the 1st game of the series, it was a very encouraging sign for the fans of both sides. Skip Bayless was more impressed with the Celtics’ performance, particularly in the fourth quarter which proved to be a crucial factor in the game.
Stephen Curry, who started the game on a positive note, struggled in the latter part of the game. And Bayless praised the Celtics’ strategy, saying, “The Celtics are the first team not to be overwhelmed and intimidated by Steph’s showboating, hot-dogging and front-running. They just shrug and keep fighting.”
Boston Celtics beats Stephen Curry and Golden State Warriors for the win in the 4th quarter
Golden State Warriors had the upper hand in the game and played at the Chase Center where they haven’t lost a single game this postseason. But the Celtics on the other hand had a better away record which made the matchup interesting.

The Splash Brothers showed hot hands from the start and other Warriors players also helped keep the momentum going in the game. However, Boston, as they have throughout the playoffs, kept a “safe distance” from the Warriors’ overall score. They even led by 2 points at half time.
But second-half performance has always been a strength of the Golden State Warriors since their first championship season. They had a massive 3rd quarter and went into the 4th quarter with a massive 12-point lead. The game looked set for the Warriors, where they previously overwhelmed their opponents and finished stronger in the 4th quarter.
But the resilient Boston Celtics ramped up their pressure defenses in the game’s crucial 12 minutes, limiting three-time world champions Stephen Curry and the Warriors to just 16 points. Curry, who had 21 points in the 1st quarter alone, scored 4 points with 33% shooting from the field. Also, in the fourth quarter, the Celtics were able to force 4 turnovers while conceding just 1 goal.
On a 24-point switch, the Golden State Warriors were offensively helpless and even had a five-minute scoring drought, which is unlikely at the Chase Center. The starters were removed in the closing minutes of the game as the Warriors waved the white flag.
Curry finished the game with 34 points on 12-25 shooting from the field, and Wiggins had 20 points. The Celtics managed to grab a win behind the performance of Al Horford and Jaylen Brown, who combined for 50 points for the team, and Derrick White ended up with an impressive 21 points to injure the Warriors.
Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors lost their first game at the Chase Center this postseason, and they’ll be looking to improvise on that before it gets worse.
