The body of a teenager was found in a burned out car in the Victorian town of Bunbartha, prompting a police investigation

A teenager’s body has been found in a burned-out car in a small Victorian town, and there are puzzles as to what exactly happened before his death.

Emergency services were called to reports of a car fire on Loch Garry Rd in Bunbartha around 10am on Christmas Eve.

After they put out the flames, the man’s body was found inside.

He has since been identified as a 19-year-old Wangaratta man.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident.

The exact circumstances of the fire have yet to be determined.

Detectives are also asking anyone who was traveling in the area at the time of the fire who may have dashcam footage to get in touch with them.
