A body believed to be that of a missing swimmer has been found.
Witnesses reported that a swimmer was having difficulty in the water near Barneys Point Bridge in Chinderah in north NSW around 1.15pm on Thursday.

A was launched immediately involving Surf Life Saving Australia, NSW Ambulance, Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, Queensland Marine Area Command and volunteers from Marine Rescue NSW.
“Following ongoing search efforts, the body of a man was found in waters nearby around 7pm,” NSW Police said on Friday.
“While the body has yet to be officially identified, it is believed to be the missing swimmer – a man in his 20s.”
A report is prepared for the coroner.
