The best tires for Gran Turismo 7

As detailed as Gran Turismo 7 is, some might not be surprised to find that even changing your car’s tire type makes a huge difference in performance. However, there are 12 different tires that you can buy, so deciding which one to lead can likely lead you down a stressful road. Here’s everything you need to know about each tire type and which one is best for your next race.

Comfort, sports and racing tyres, explained and what is better

Unless the track you are driving has no tire restrictions, the best type of tire in the GT7 is the racing type – whether hard, medium or soft. Race tires are known to perform best overall and tend to have the most grip of the three. This allows even heavier sports cars to navigate sharp turns with ease without sacrificing too much speed.

Unfortunately, race tires will be the last tire type unlocked in the tuning shop, so for some it might be best to settle for the next best thing: sport tires. Like race tyres, these still offer great handling, but you may have to brake sooner than expected with these as the grip isn’t as strong.

Should you choose hard, medium or soft tires?

How much air you should have in your tires depends entirely on what types of races you compete in. Soft tires are known to give you the best possible grip and ultimately make short, tight stretches a breeze on most vehicles. This is especially true for any event or track that generally requires heavy drifting or braking.

Meanwhile, hard tires are best for endurance racing as they prioritize durability over grip and control. That might be too much of a compromise for some, but it’s important to note that the tires will slowly gain traction the longer you ride. If you still can’t decide what’s best for you, we recommend starting with medium tires that give a nice balance between the two. From there you should be able to gauge whether your car requires better handling or durability.
