The trade of Trey Mancini from the Orioles to the Astros had players and fans in Baltimore trying to process heartache and frustration.
Trey Mancini was a fan favorite in Baltimore. So of course it was shipped to Houston.
That oriole Mancini traded to the Astros on Monday a three-team deal that landed them a prospect each from Houston and Tampa Bay.
The reaction in Baltimore to even the idea of losing Mancini was heated. Seeing it actually happen has devastated fans and even players like Ryan Mountcastle, Anthony Santander and Jorge López.
Orioles fans and even neutrals eyed the deal sideways.

However, not everyone was angry. Many were trying to deal with it in their own ways, whether they were analyzing the deal or anticipating what Mancini can accomplish in Houston.
What’s done is done and Orioles fans will have to get used to Mancini wearing a new shirt this year.

Mancini’s contract expired at the end of the season, so he’s basically a loan player for Houston. Baltimore tried to get something back for him, knowing a free hand was coming.
Judging the trade now can only go so far. It will really depend on what happens with the prospects, Seth Johnson and Chayce McDermott and Mancini down the line.
