Conference tournaments take center stage on Friday while most major conferences prepare for their regular season finals on Saturday.
Here are a handful of the best bets on the college basketball board for Friday, March 4th across all conference tournaments.
A 3-2 Thursday brings us close to breakeven after a downturn over the past two weeks. Let’s wrap up the regular season on a positive note this weekend.

Three team pair lays aren’t necessarily the most +EV bets, but the point here is to get Loyola Chicago to a roughly even money payout.
I’m a little nervous because the Ramblers are covering the 5.5 point spread against Bradley, who they beat in overtime and lost to away from home last month. However, I believe that Drew Valentine’s team can win this game because of their best MVC turnover rate against a sloppy Bradley team that’s in the last 100 in protecting the ball.
I’ll pair the Sister Jeans with Missouri State (the best offense in MVC) to eliminate Valparaiso and Utah State in late-game Mountain West action. San Jose State is 1-16 in conference play this season and I don’t see them picking up the second win tonight. The Aggies have not lost to a team outside of the KenPom top 200 since the first game of the season. SJSU’s inability to defend on the inside will be crucial against MWC’s best 2-point offense.
Both teams are double-digit favorites against unlucky opponents. I think we avoid a massive upset and concede this parlay which is close to pick.
PICK: Loyola Chicago/Missouri State/Utah State -109
Southern Illinois has covered against Drake both times this season, including last Saturday when the team lost away as a 7.5-point underdog with two losses.
One of the best defenses in the Missouri Valley Conference can stay with the Bulldogs, who are struggling to even get a clean look (last in the MVC on three-point percentage). Not to mention, the Bulldogs lost ace defenseman DJ Wilkins to a cruciate ligament rupture last week. This will open the perimeter for the conference’s top 3-point shooting team, Saluki’s guard Lance Jones, who struggled with Wilkins covering him up.
Both games were close, Drake won along by three points and I think the Salukis, who play at under-10 pace in the country, can keep it within two buckets.
PICK: Southern Illinois +3.5, play to +3
I love this spot for the Eagles, who marked as underdogs against Belmont on both occasions, including an overall win at home. Simply put, MSU is a tough duel for the Bruins, who rely on big man Nick Muszynski to dominate on offense.
Overall, Belmont is the best team in the country on 2-point percentage, but I think they’ll be fighting a Morehead State team that’s in the top 30 nationally, has the inside defending and wings to give Belmont’s ballhandlers fits, making it difficult get the ball in their big man.
The Eagles defense has thrown bouts at Belmont both times this season (the second meeting was a 48-47 win for Belmont at home), and I’m confident the underdogs will thrive from long range, the weak point of the Bruins defense. Morehead State has the second-best 3-point mark in the conference while Belmont has the worst defensive numbers.
Morehead State is live for an upset Friday night, but I’ll play it safe and get the points.
PICK: Morehead State +4.5
