The Barcelona star received an ‘astronomical proposal’ from Newcastle
Newcastle are interested in the services of FC Barcelona and French star Ousmane Dembele, according to reports emanating from Spain.
What does Newcastle need?
Eddie Howe is named as the new head coach of Newcastle earlier this month.
Howe joins the club facing the colossal task of keeping the Northeast outfit at the top.
And for now, that seems unlikely after 12 games of the campaign. Newcastle are bottom of the PL table and are the only team in the league yet to win a single win this season.
Newcastle also have the worst defense in the Premier League right now, conceding 27 in 11 games.
Given the size of the task facing Howe, it looks like Newcastle have to spend wisely in the upcoming January transfer window.
And Howe seems to be being advocated to do so, with it report that the former Bournemouth player will have £50m to spend in the winter market, as well as bring in a number of players on loan.

Newcastle eye Ousmane Dembele
Now, a potential target of the Northeast skins seems to have been revealed recently.
Follow Mirror citing the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Dembele received ‘an astronomical proposal’ from Newcastle:
Dembele has received ‘an astronomical offer’ from the Magpies, who are said to be willing to offer him a staggering salary of €15m (£12.6m) per season for a similar fee an attractive contract of bonuses.
Of course, Dembele is currently out of action and has only played two games all season due to injury. And with the 24-year-old out of contract next year, perhaps Barca might be wise to sell the winger now, rather than lose him for free in the summer?
