Winning Clash of Clans means using your units and spells wisely. There are two types of spells in the mobile game: Elixir and Dark. They are made in different factories and cost different resources, but they all still have strategic uses that can turn the tide.
We have compiled a list of the eight best spells in Clash of Clans here. If you want to debuff your opponent’s army, boost your own, or create confusion on the battlefield, you have many options. No matter how you strategize during your battles, you should be able to find some new tactics on this list.

There are a variety of strategies for winning a Clash of Clans match, but rushing the enemy is common. Hit them with a Freeze spell first, and they’re defenseless as they stand frozen in place, letting you get closer. Freeze spells only take up one spell slot, so you can do this multiple times during a game.
Literally every Clash of Clans player has needed extra health at some point: the healing spell is essential. The healing lasts for quite a long time, forming a ring on the ground that ties everyone nearby together. Timing just right and you can keep your units refilled throughout the game.
Invisibility is the signature trait of Archer Queen, the best hero in Clash of Clans in general. Being invisible means a unit cannot be attacked by enemy attacks. Splash and splash damage still apply, but a group of units that cannot be attacked while storming an enemy stronghold is a game-ending turn.
This is one of the longest lasting spells in the entire game and increases both troop movement speed and attack power. It’s a serious buff and can be used in both offensive and defensive situations. Whether you need to take out the enemy base or quickly defend your own, the Rage Spell is always within reach.
Best Dark Spells in Clash of Clans
The Bat Spell is quite different from all the others on this list as it summons a new unit instead of creating an area of effect on the battlefield. A swarm of bats may not seem as powerful as other troops, but since they don’t trigger traps, they can fly into your opponent’s defenses. It’s a little extra help no matter what your usual strategy is.
Bats attack enemy defenses, as does Earthquake Spell. If you just want to deal a quick hit on enemy structures, this is the way to go. While each consecutive Earthquake deals less and less overall damage, four Earthquake spells will shatter a wall no matter what. Do what you want with this knowledge.
The rage spell can increase troop speed, but haste kicks things up even further. If you want to rush your opponent, this is a must. It has a smaller area of effect compared to some other spells, but there is a big tradeoff in that it takes up a lot less space in your inventory.
Finally, we have some good old (dis)honest damage with the poison spell. The damage it deals over time can be that sneaky thing that wins you the match by withering away the enemy’s health during a long match. In addition, it also slows down enemy troops, like a reversal of Fury or Haste.
