The Kansas City Chiefs reduced their roster to 53 players on Tuesday, August 30th. Here are three cuts that could be haunting them.

All 32 NFL teams have announced their first Week 1 rosters by the Tuesday, August 30 deadline. The deadline saw teams reduce their rosters to 53 players but then had the chance to sign free agents on Wednesday, August 31st.

The Kansas City Chiefs were able to get their roster on point 53 players, but they had to give up some talents. They were able to add names like Daurice Fountain, Danny Shelton and Zayne Anderson to their practice squad on Wednesday.

As for the players the Chiefs haven’t been able to re-sign, these three could come back to pursue them.

On Wednesday, the waivers officially went through, and teams found out if they were able to secure those for which they had made a claim. Kansas City didn’t enforce any of their claims, but they did lose a player on the defensive side of the ball.

Defensive tackle Matt Dickerson was claimed by the Atlanta Falcons on waivers. He reunites with Dean Pees, who was his defensive coordinator for the league’s first two seasons. Pees is the current defensive coordinator at Atlanta, where Arthur Smith, the former offensive coordinator for Tennessee, is the current head coach.

Dickerson signed with the Chiefs on August 8. He played in Kansas City’s preseason debut against the Chicago Bears, where he recorded three solo tackles. Dickerson also played in the second preseason contest against the Washington Commanders where he recorded one pass defended.

While he may be a late addition, it’s never good for a team to see one of their released players being claimed and thriving by another team. Will it happen with Dickerson? We should find out as the season progresses. The 3 Biggest Cuts That Could Be Hitting the Kansas City Chiefs
