The 10 best fish skins in Fortnite and how to get them

Fortnite has released a handful of animal-based cosmetics, although its famous fish skins have earned a reputation for being arguably the most adorable and diverse. These range from a piranha in a space suit to several wacky offshoots of the game’s iconic Fishstick character. However, these wonderfully designed skins can cost thousands of V-Bucks. To make sure you’re getting the absolute best bang for your hard-earned currency, here are the 10 best fish skins in Fortnite, listed in alphabetical order.

Atlantean Fishstick transforms the beloved Fishstick NPC into an underwater warrior with gilded armor and sapphire gems embedded in his chest and helmet. The Rare Tier cosmetic also comes with a matching Titan Scale Back Bling carrying two golden daggers. Luckily, an Atlantic fish stick is a fairly common item. It comes into the Item Shop’s daily rotation every 41 days on average and always costs 1,200 V-Bucks.

One of our favourites, Bryne is portrayed as a queen with bright maroon scales and a sleek blue and white bathing suit. The rare cosmetic ends up in the shop almost every month for 1,200 V-Bucks. Better yet, those who buy Bryne can give her a translucent cape in the form of the Coral Cowl Back Bling.

As terrifying as it may be, another lovable skin based on Fishstick is Fishskull. The cosmetic dresses the character in a full body skeletal costume that is nothing but black and white. However, it is not sold individually. Players wishing to own Fishskull must purchase the Skull Squad Pack for $19.99, although the pack also includes three other Halloween skins. However, this pack usually drops into the in-game store for a limited time every October.

If you’re a die-hard battle royale fan, the original Fishstick is certainly a must-have. Dawning on the NPC’s light blue outfit and brown cap, there are also three additional styles that the skin can wear. This includes a pirate style that replaces his basic gear with an eye patch and a black sailor hat. Fishstick is typically made available once a month for 1,200 V-Bucks.

Gummy fish stick

Though it’s not exactly a fish, Gummy Fishstick reimagines the NPC as a colorful candy that’s somehow come to life. As with any fruit snack, you can expect it to come in a variety of colors, as skin owners have the option to switch between a red, orange, or yellow variant. The cosmetic only appeared in the Item Shop during Fortnitemares 2021, so it will likely return 1,200 V-Bucks near next Halloween.

Leviathan

There may not be a fish skin quite as weird and unique as Leviathan. Although initially appearing fairly normal in a simple white astronaut suit, a piranha swims inside its helmet and appears to control the rest of the body. Since its debut in 2018, the skin has been available in just 27 item shop rotations for a whopping 2,000 V-Bucks. However, since Leviathan already has six appearances this year, it will be back very soon.

Princess Felicity Fish

Aside from Bryne, the only other female fish you can obtain is the beautiful Princess Felicity Fish. The character wears a light blue dress with gold patterns that shimmer throughout, but it also comes with an optional purple outfit for those who don’t want to draw too much attention. Potential buyers can expect Princess Felicity Fish to return to the in-game store approximately every 77 days with a price tag of 1,200 V-Bucks.

Sipping Leviathan

Not only is Slurp Leviathan one of the finest fish skins you can own, it’s the rarest to date. The item is part of the 2,000 V-Buck Slurp Legends bundle, a set that is no longer available as of March 2020. However, with bundles tending to return after years without an item shop appearance, there’s still a chance it will be a long time coming – expected return. The skin is a light-hearted take on the original Leviathan, but with an all-black suit and a friendlier blue fish behind its glass shell.

Toona Fish

Even if you don’t like Toona Fish’s old-school cartoon design, it can be customized to your heart’s content. The skin gives owners the ability to use 21 different colors to paint anything from the head, hat, arms, and even accessories however they want. Therefore, the number of optional styles is almost too large to count. Unfortunately, Toona Fish was exclusive to the Chapter 2 Season 8 Battle Pass, meaning his chances of being in the Item Shop at all times are slim to non-existent.

triggerfish

Triggerfish is another Fishstick cosmetic product, but this time the sea creature is shown doing its best Rambo impression. That’s because the skin is adorned with military gear and a long sweatband to prove he’s ready for some heated firefights. Triggerfish comes with two additional styles that allow players to outfit the skin with black face paint or a sturdy combat helm. The character comes to the Item Shop roughly every two months for the price of 1,200 V-Bucks.
