‘That’s a stupid question’

On Tuesday, Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld joked that his colleague, Peter Doocy, deserved to be called a “stupid bastard” by President Joe Biden on Monday.

“Biden was right. That is a silly question. ‘Is inflation hurting your chances?’ Of course it will! So, in fact, Biden was correct. It’s a silly question,” said Gutfeld on “The Five”.

The panel of the critically acclaimed afternoon show is discussing the case, which came after Doocy asked Biden if inflation would hurt him and his party as we head into the midterms, and the president said : “No, it’s a great asset. More inflation. What a stupid bastard. ”

According to Doocy, Biden called him afterward to apologize.

Gutfeld also insisted Fox News is handling the situation better than CNN would, and compared how he found the moment “fun” to “every time [Jim] Acosta acted like a stone tool and made CNN’s Karens cavalry nervous about the coming reign of terror” in the administration of former President Donald Trump. Fox News, it should be noted, Supported Acosta when his White House press pass was briefly revoked during that period.

On Monday night, CNN’s Jake Tapper also defended Doocy, speak late-night host Jimmy Kimmel – who was amused by Biden’s comment – that it was inappropriate from any leader.
