Texas A&M vs Arkansas Rates and Predictions (Aggies are undervalued on the road)

Then-No: The Texas A&M Aggies and Arkansas Razorbacks will return to SEC action tonight when they go head-to-head at Bud Walton Arena. While the Aggies have a better record with a 15-3 scoreline and higher standings in the conference, Arkansas is favored here after losing 10-1 at home earlier this year. However, they only lost 3-3 to the SEC teams. The Aggies, meanwhile, are 5-1 in the conference game. Their only loss was a 64-58 loss to the 12th Kentucky Wildcats. Arkansas also beat the 12th-placed team last week with a 65-58 win over the 12th-placed LSU Tigers.

The Aggies are fighting to make it into the top 25 in the rankings despite a very strong overall and conference record.

Despite being a pretty big favorite, I expect the Razorbacks to struggle for points against a very strong Aggies defense. Texas A&M ranks 39th nationally in terms of opponents’ points-per-game with 63.9 and 48 in effective scoring. That’s not to say that Arkansas has a weak attack, I just think the Aggies are up against them well. Especially about the circumference. Despite having the 17th highest offense record overall, the Razorbacks are among the worst three-point shooters in the nation. Their 28.8 shot rate from depth ranks 328 in the country.

I think the odds for this match are slightly influenced by the Aggies’ recent loss to Kentucky at home. But they are still a very strong team, shoot well, create lots of passes and are resilient in front of defence. I’ll take points with the laners here and I wouldn’t be too shocked if they stay undefeated on the road.

Pick: Texas A&M Aggies +9 (-110)
