‘Temporary Playoff’ – LIV Golf Lawsuit Hearing for FedEx Cup Playoffs Scheduled for Tuesday » FirstSportz
A court challenge to the PGA Tour’s position was received on Tuesday LIV golf is to take place in San Jose, California. The United States District Court for the Northern District of California has set a date for an in-person hearing of the three players – Talor GoochHudson Swafford and Matthew Jones – who have challenged the suspension of the Tour for violating circuit guidelines and playing in the LIV series league.
The suspension was issued because the players participated in the LIV series league. Players have applied for a restraining order in hopes it will pave the way for participation in the FedExCup playoffs, which begin Thursday in Memphis.

LIV golfers have been banned from the FedEx Cup playoffs
The hearing will be before Judge Beth Labson Freeman and is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Pacific Time (PT). The Tour has until 8 a.m. PT Monday morning to submit a response to the players’ request for relief.
Eleven players, including Gooch, Swafford and Jones, have challenged the tour’s decision to suspend its members who attended any of the LIV Golf events by filing an antitrust lawsuit against the circuit. It is now unknown which of the players seeking relief will appear for Tuesday’s hearing.
