During a recent interview with DJ Vlad, Teddy Riley open about the alleged abuse of his daughter Nia Riley went through during dating Soulja boy.
Nia and Soulja Boy dated back and forth from 2006 onwards. The couple eventually split in 2019. Throughout Nia and Soulja Boy’s relationship, which has appeared on various reality shows such as VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood and WE tv’s Marriage Bootcamp, fans have been able to see just how turbulent their union is was.
In several instances, the “Crank That” rapper allegedly cheated on her and physically assaulted her after a heated argument.
When asked on September 27 about the alleged abuse Nia suffered, such as being kicked in the stomach while she was expecting a child and being held at gunpoint, Teddy said he confronted after he had been made aware of what was going on soulja boy.
He said: “Well let me say this, Soulja Boy knows who I am and he knows I’m very deep. We had an argument. I was abused a lot and given an apology. I’m looking for an excuse for what he did to my daughter. That’s what I’m looking for as a man. I’m looking for that. I think she deserves it.”
As the discussion continued, the music producer revealed that while he received an apology from Soulja Boy for his alleged actions, Nia did not.
“Here’s someone who really got behind him and did the show for him because she thought that was going to happen and it would be them,” he said. “I saw them live together. I didn’t know what was going on. So I think if he were a man, a real man, which you find really a lot of those out there who are capable of really becoming a man and have a heart to say something that amounts to an apology, then do it right . If you don’t, you reap what you sow.”
The 54-year-old explained why he found abuse against women in general to be harmful while sharing his experiences in relationships.
“I’ve been in relationships. I have nine children and one thing I will never do is fight a woman. The only thing that hurt her the most was me walking away, and I did. I’m leaving. Women are earth… women are earth and when we abuse them we only abuse a bunch of beautiful children. We abuse someone who can help you later. We need our earth. I don’t care what anyone says, but I just feel like it’s wrong.”
Immediately following his statement, Teddy expressed that he hopes Soulja Boy is doing the right thing and apologizes to his daughter.
He said: “I hope he gets it right or you reap what you sow. I don’t make threats or anything like that. I will not do that. We do not do that. You gotta understand, you gotta be a man… just be a man and keep it moving. You know he’s a successful guy, why all of this and why it has to be violent.”
Teddy added: “The best thing you can do is walk away because if this woman loves you, she will come right after you. She loved this man.”
Towards the end of the interview, Teddy expressed that if he ever came face to face with Soulja Boy he “wouldn’t have anything to say” and reiterated that he felt the rapper’s actions towards his daughter were “completely wrong”. be.
As Teddy’s interview circulated online, rather than address the claims at hand, Soulja Boy decided to attack DJ Vlad, who currently has an ongoing feud with the lyricist, stating that all of his interviews result in rappers being investigated by the police.
The 32-year-old said in a now-deleted Instagram Live: “Ar-Ab did an interview with you about why he is now in prison. Why does Boosie get pulled over by the police every time he gives you an interview? Because you are the police. Shut up, na. You can drop all the Teddy Riley interviews you want, you’re still ah. You are still the police. Fk you are talking about. Stop dragging Teddy Riley into this. He has nothing to do with that DJ Vlad. You’re ab-h.”
He continued, “You can have whatever interviews you want speak on my name. I’m still a gangster. I’m still viral. I’m still number one. Stop putting Teddy Riley in that DJ Vlad. He has nothing to do with this na. That was five or six years ago; let’s talk about it right now. Let’s talk about how you lock up rappers.”
Soulja Boy ended this segment of his tirade by calling DJ Vlad a distraction. The Kiss Me Thru the Phone host said: “You’re a distraction. You will post the interview with Teddy Riley. F-k this interview. Fk what he’s talking about. What the hell does Teddy Riley have to do with the smoke I bring you?
