Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Leonard Fournette is likely out for the remainder of the regular season; signing team Le’Veon Bell

Tampa Bay Buccaneers run again Leonard Fournette “Likely” to be placed on the injury reserve because a hamstring injury kept him on crutches Sunday night, a federation source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday.

Fournette will miss the rest of the regular season, but a source said he is expected to return for the knockout stages.

With Fournette absent, the Buccaneers are signing Le’Veon Bell, pending, for backup Ronald Jones, a source confirmed to ESPN. Bell is expected to be in Tampa on Wednesday morning, and he will be on the active roster, not the practice team, according to sources.

Fournette was injured in the third quarter of Sunday’s 9-0 loss to the visitors New Orleans Saints.

Last week, the Bucs put veterans running again Giovani Bernard, their third comeback, the reserve was injured after he sprained the MCL in his knee and an extensor tendon in his hip. A source told ESPN that Bernard “could be back in time for the knockout stages.”

But without Fournette and Bernard, the Bucs have Jones, who wasn’t cast in the lead role by Fournette last year, and a second year back. Ke’Shawn Vaughn. Passing is not Jones’ forte, and Vaughn is inexperienced.

In Fournette’s absence, the Bucs were limited in their short pass game when running against the Saints. Jones dashed 63 yards with eight attempts and caught two eight-yard passes. Vaughn has 19 yards of dash with three executions.

Bell, 29 years old, former All-Pro, last played for Baltimore Raven, he dashed 83 yards with 31 make and two touchdowns and caught a pass on two goals in five games.

News of Bell’s signing was first reported by the NFL Network.

Bucs inside linebacker and longtime captain Lavonte David, who left Sunday’s game late in the 4th half and did not return, was diagnosed with a sprained leg, a source told ESPN. Sources say there’s a chance David could return for the final game of the season against Carolina Panthers but his recovery could take up to four weeks.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler contributed to this report.
