SZA says long-awaited album is ready, explains crutches at Grammys

SZA announced that their long-awaited second major label album, which has been in the works for about six years, is finally ready and on the way.

“I just finished it in Hawaii,” she replied diversity‘s question. “And it’s coming soon!” When asked for details, she said, “I think it’s my unisex album.” Met with a slightly confused response, she continued, “I think it’s for everyone.”

She also explained why she walks on crutches, leading to a rather hilarious moment where she walked up the stairs to accept her first Grammy Award – on crutches with a long dress, which resulted in Lady Gaga doing her train for her held.

“I fell out of the worst before I came here,” to come to Las Vegas for the show, she quickly clarified. “Whenever something big happens to me, something crazy also happens,” she said.

The crutches led to a few comical moments as she paced on and off stage, first as she tried to redeem her Grammy, hoping the high award wouldn’t bring her down, and also as she walked and told her publicist: “I just I don’t want to take pictures in a wheelchair!”

SZA won the Grammy for her duet with Doja Cat, “Kiss Me More.”
