Speaking to Sydney finance expert Queenie Tan on TikTok, Belinda said that one of the “easiest ways to freshen up your property is to simply swap out the light fixtures.”

To improve the look of your kitchen, she said replacing the old cabinet handles can instantly change the mood of the atmosphere.

“Put new hardware in your kitchen cabinets,” she said.

Whether you are selling your property or looking to remodel your space, Belinda explained how a fresh coat of paint can go a long way.

‘hide imperfections’

“It hides a lot of imperfections,” she said.

“Because people don’t actually mind the smell of paint when they come to buy your house because it means they don’t have to do it themselves.

“It will brighten the home and hide a lot of things in your home that you don’t want them to see.”

Three things that add no value

In July, Belinda revealed three things that are “nice to have” but “do not add value to your home.”

“First is a wine cellar. If you have an average suburban home, no one is likely to pay more than market value just because you have a wine cellar,” she said.

“Number two are impeller vacuum cleaners. They are expensive to install and offer little to no added value. I have two products for you: “Small Round Robot Vacuum Cleaner and Cordless Vacuum Cleaner.

“And number three converts your garage into additional accommodation. If you don’t have council approval, it’s worthless because it’s uninhabitable. And chances are it would be worth more as a double garage than as a converted space.”
