India meets England on July 10 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham for the third T20I. The hosts played aggressively this time to avoid whitewashing the guest. India were already leading the game 2-0, but England’s win turned it into a 2-1 draw.
England had hit a whopping 215 runs with the help of Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone’s 77 and 42 runs respectively. India’s response was not good as Rohit Sharma folded with just 11 runs in 12 balls while other opener slugger Rishabh Pant managed just one run. It was Reece Topley who did the early damage to India.
Virat Kohli’s meager spot continued and he scored just 11 runs from six balls before taking a long walk back to the Stardium. But when Suryakumar came out to bat, fans saw something they didn’t expect at the time. Suryakumar Yadav scored his first ton in this match. He unleashed 14 fours and six sixes to hit 117 runs on just 55 balls.
But India could only score 198 runs in his 20 overs. Topley had recorded three wickets while conceding three runs while David Wiley conceded 40 runs.

The Indian captain was very enthusiastic about Suryakumar Yadav’s maid ton
“It was a fantastic chase, although we came up short. We’re proud of the fight. It was great to watch Surya. I’ve been watching him for a while. Loves this format, has a wide range of shots. He’s gotten stronger and stronger since we brought him into the squad. They put pressure on us with their shots,” said Rohit Sharma during the post-match presentation.
“Have fun playing, fantastic game. I thought we had a slightly above average score. Incredible innings from SKY. I thought Reece Topley bowled in the wicket and drove away really well. It was gratifying to see Gleeson return with another performance. It was good too. England ended up scoring 198 runs in their 20 overs,” said England captain Jos Buttler after the game.
