SuperGaming, a gaming studio based in Pune has announced a new battle royale called Indus Battle Royale. As the name suggests, the setting of the game will be Indian themed. The company has also announced a release date for the game, but the real question is whether it will rival PUBG India aka Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).
The growth of online gaming has increased tenfold, especially during the pandemic years. India has also established itself as a major market for games as well as eSports, forcing international companies to invest in game companies based in India. Out of all the genres, the battle royale genre is gaining the biggest love from Indian gamers. Now, another game has entered the catalog.

Indus Battle Royale: Release date and everything known so far
International titles like COD Mobile, Free Fire and PUBG are region-specific, i.e. BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) has dominated the battle-royale genre since a long time. While Indian gamers have seen Indian themed battle royale games like FAUG (Fearless and United Guards) in the past, it has failed to leave its mark on the industry.
Now, SuperGaming has announced another Indian themed battle royale game, Indus Battle Royale. Obviously, this game will draw inspiration from the weapons, landscapes and other aspects that were part of the earliest civilization in India. While the company has yet to give out any specifics so far, it can be expected that the game will work on the similar gameplay mechanics of BGMI and Free Fire.
SuperGaming announced in an official Press Release, “Indus is a worldwide battle royale game made in India for mobile devices, PC and consoles with a release date of 2022. It is being developed with a focus on bringing our Indian culture to futuristic look for gamers around the globe. Our aim was to provide deep lore and a sense of a different but relatable place with the guns and gameplay systems you’d expect from a modern battle royale. ”
As of now, there is only one image of the game released by the company, where we can see a character jumping onto a monument that looks like a Lotus temple. This really highlights the focus on India while delivering a battle-royale-like experience BGMI and Free Fire.
As mentioned from the company, the game will be available on Mobile, PC as well as console. Currently, the game is in the early stages of development but it is likely to have a release date of 2022. SuperGaming has previously offered popular games like MaskGun and Silly Royale, so gamers will be betting a lot. Expect Indus Battle Royale.
