Super 25 for week 12
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Unbeaten Lake Creek clinched his 81st straight win and continued closer to a title defense in the Texas State 5A while staying atop the 2023 USA TODAY Sports/NFCA High School Super 25 for his 27th week.
The Lions (40-0) defeated Barbers Hill twice in their last playoff series and play Georgetown in a best-of-three regional finals starting today. Lake Creek, who had a 119-2 record for the past three seasons, defeated the Eagles 10-4 in a encounter earlier this season.
Meanwhile, Jackson (22-1), Roncalli (28-3-1) and Springfield (26-0) overtook last week’s No. 2 team Bentonville (29-3) after the Tigers ended up losing 6-4 had champion Bryant in the Arkansas State 6A semifinals. Next up, Springfield meets number 22 Anthony Wayne (26-3) in Friday’s Ohio Division I Region Finals.
Minnesota’s Rosemount (20-0) is a newcomer to the current standings, debuting at No. 11 after remaining perfect for the season with a 10-0 win over Apple Valley on Tuesday. The Irish meet East Ridge in the Section 3AAAA semi-finals today.
