Streamer Luality hits Elden Rings Margit with a real sword before her LARP run of the game

Luality, a Twitch streamer best known for completing FromSoftware games with a dance pad and other unique controllers, managed to defeat Margit, one of Elden Ring’s bosses, with a real sword. Impressively, this fight was just a test for the final version of their upcoming LARP run of the game.
Luality managed to hit Margit with a sword by working with a motion capture camera that recognized her sword swings. As you can see in her video on Twitch, she only swings the sword up and down to trigger her character’s sword swing in-game. For movement and other controls like healing, Luality still seems to use a dance pad, although it’s possible the motion camera will pick up specific leg and arm movements for this.

After sharing the video on Twitter, Luality confirmed that she is planning a LARP (live action role-playing game) run of Elden Ring. The run is broadcast on her twitch channel and shows her using not only a real sword but full armor as well. This is possibly as close to being in Elden Ring while playing it as you can get.
Luality’s LARP run will be the first time we’ll see someone attempting to attack the Elden Ring using their entire body as a controller. Another prominent streamer, MissMikka, has completed similar challenge runs in Elden Ring. So far, she’s completed the game with a dance floor, including a run where she played two versions of the game simultaneously via a controller and dance floor, and even a guitar.

Elden Ring is the latest title from FromSoftware. It challenges players to make their way through an inhospitable land, killing dozens of bosses along the way. FromSoftware’s games are known for being fair but also incredibly challenging. Every time a new one is released, there’s always a divide between players who want a simple mode to enjoy the story and those who wouldn’t touch it if the combat changed at all. Making these already incredibly tough games even more challenging with bizarre controllers, including that of rng Fit Adventure, is incredibly impressive and the community wants to see more of it. Even if they would never play the game like that themselves.
