Stick to a fork in Lakers championship hopes

The Los Angeles Lakers celebrated their 10th anniversary of winning the 2010 championship by winning their 17th NBA Championship in 2020. With a roster rife with Stars and a few future Celebrities, The Lakers are expected to continue to stay mixed for the foreseeable future. However, as we all know, that plan didn’t work out as expected by the Lakers.

Cut to the end of February 2022 and the Lakers are 27-33 and currently sit out the playoffs in ninth place in the Western Conference. After opening the season -5000 time WynnBET Sportsbook To make it to the knockout stages, things couldn’t be worse for the Lake Show right now. Their title win percentage has plummeted and they look set to fall below their 52.5 expected win total.

At some point, over the past few weeks, it became clear that the Lakers narrative was diverging from “will they win the title?” to whether or not they will make it to the knockout round. And while that may sound extreme, the reality is that things are not looking bad for this team in 2022 and looking into the future. What makes their demise even more interesting is that the Western Conference is having a down year and doesn’t look like the obvious fondness between the East and the West. If this is a more traditional season of domination from the West, the Lakers are likely ready for the knockout stages. But, I feel that it is only a matter of time before the Lakers get tough as their peers in the West have begun to wake up and leave LAL in the dust.

As of this writing, the Lakers are on a two-game losing streak and are closer to falling out of the top 10 than they are climbing the ladder to overtake the Clippers in eighth place. The Pelicans and Trail Blazers are both following in the Lakers’ footsteps and have enjoyed more success in recent times. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Lakers completely crumble and fall to 11th in the West ahead of the Spurs, Kings, Thunder and Rockets at the bottom of the table. Basically, what I’m saying is if you’re holding onto a 2022 Lakers championship ticket, I feel for you. And if you’re thinking of doing a game on the Lakers’ field, I suggest you rethink the act.
