While 50 Cent once held the throne for worst first pitch ever, it looks like Steve Aoki surpassed him at the Boston Red Sox game.
The Boston Red Sox struggle for a number of reasons, and sometimes having less than stellar pitches is definitely a problem for the people of Boston. Despite the fact that the Red Sox have found some inconsistencies among their pitchers, there are individuals who are definitely less effective at getting a baseball over home plate.
Steve Aoki is a pretty good example of this. The average person is less talented at pitching a baseball than the average pro baseball player, and Aoki certainly helped prove that Monday night.
Hoo boy, that’s not a good first pitch at all.
Technically it went outside the box, so that, but it definitely didn’t come close to being the intended catcher.

Of course, it’s worth noting that Aoki sure looks like he’s been having fun with the moment!
Not only is Aoki wearing some really interesting pants and shoes, but he seems to be having a blast sending the ball into orbit on this throw. All in all, it’s a pretty impressive throw, but it’s definitely a trajectory that doesn’t come anywhere close to where the ball should have gone.
So, well, better luck next time? Maybe someone can help Aoki get it done sometime in the near future?
