Stephen Silas is in danger of being fired because of a loss

In the midst of a 15-game losing streak, Houston Rockets‘Head coach Stephen Silas in the hot seat. The team’s last and only victory this season comes with Oklahoma City Thunder on October 22. Since then, the Rockets have yet to win another basketball game and have a 1-16 record. Silas’s coaching tenure at Houston may not last much longer, as there are serious concerns about whether he is the right coach for a rebuilding squad. according to Jake Fischer of The Bleacher Report.
Silas entered the conversation with the coach into the 2020 season with the expectation of being part of a competitive squad. Stars James Harden and Russell Westbrook, along with general manager Daryl Morey, all of which remained part of the picture at the time. However, all three foundation pieces eventually moved on, and Silas was forced to coach a team that had minimal expectations for the foreseeable future.
In 72 games last season, Silas led the Rockets to a 17-55 record. This season doesn’t look any better, with most of the game time going to young players like Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green. Houston also holds the worst offensive performance and assists-to-revenue ratio in the league. While this is certainly influenced by inexperienced players playing heavy minutes, it could also have something to do with Silas’ coaching. The team’s offense has been noted as having a tendency to be fickle and disorganized.
While the Houston Rockets are focused on developing young players, like potential superstar Jalen Green, they will have to decide if Stephen Silas is the best fit for the job.
