Stefon Digg’s massive new expansion featuring the Bills is a win-win

Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills have agreed on a massive four-year contract extension.

Stefon Diggs will be with the Buffalo Bills for a long time as the Pro Bowl wide receiver has signed a four-year contract extension that keeps him in western New York for the next six seasons.

Diggs will receive $104 million for this four-year extension, of which $70 million is fully guaranteed. He’s now on the books for the next six seasons for $124.1 million with full intentions of retiring with the Buffalo franchise. Diggs will not meet the unrestricted free hand before his season at the age of 35 in Maryland until 2028. What a time to be an NFL wide receiver!

Now that Diggs has been paid, what does that mean for him, Buffalo and the rest of the league?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter added after breaking the news that some of the next wide receivers in the lineup to take the big bucks are San Francisco 49ers’ Deebo Samuel, Tennessee Titans’ AJ Brown, Seattle’s DK Metcalf Seahawks and Terry McLaurin comprise the Washington Commanders. Consider that Metcalf is on the trading bloc and things could get very interesting.

For Diggs, that means he probably won’t be playing with younger brother Trevon Diggs unless the Dallas Cowboys’ standout cornerback leaves the Metroplex in his own free agency for Orchard Park. The younger Diggs brother has two years left on his rookie contract from Alabama. Not only is he a candidate for Franchise Day 2024, but he could also bag a long-term extension.

As for what this means for Buffalo, the Bills leadership is banking on Diggs being Josh Allen’s No. 1 receiving target for the remainder of their Super Bowl window under Sean McDermott. Though the Bills are adjusting to losing offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to the New York Giants, many people expect Ken Dorsey to be one of the hottest head coach candidates any time soon.

If Diggs gets paid, other recipients get their coin now that Buffalo is Super Bowl or broke. Stefon Digg’s massive new expansion featuring the Bills is a win-win
