Stabbed at Tweed Heads: Woman in critical condition after being stabbed at Tweed Heads

A woman is in critical condition and another woman is on trial after an alleged stabbing during a fight in the car park of a block of flats in Tweed Heads.

A 48-year-old woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in critical but stable condition, where she remains after undergoing surgery.

A 37-year-old woman was later arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.

“Police will allege in court that the younger woman stabbed and assaulted the older woman during a fight in the block car park,” NSW Police said.

The incident happened at around 1.40pm on Wednesday at a block of flats on Seymour Street.

Since then, the 37-year-old has been accused of, among other things, attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, grievous bodily harm with grievous bodily harm and intentional assault weapons.

She was denied bail to appear in Tweed Heads Magistrates Court on Thursday.
